Password Question
Is it possible to change an account's password without first linking it to PlayNC? Because i have had someone access my account twice and trade off my valuable items. I am 16 years old and for all other teenagers out there you know how it is to get a new game and rush to play it and in doing so you misplace the CD key. So i am unable to link it to playNC put i'm still wondering if i can change the password.
Thanks Adam |

I don't think so, but your best bet would be to send a ticket to ANet support and they will be able to answer it without a doubt.

There should be an option to right there when you either open the game or log into your account.
Either way, you aren't required to link the account. |

Hmm actually, do character slots count as buying from the store? Last edited by XDeadboltX; Jun 04, 2008 at 01:17 PM // 13:17.. |

This is my biggest problem with ANet. They screw so many people out of accounts. Any other game allows your email address to be linked to your account so you can freely change your password. Because this game gets hacked on a constant basis, they should better guard their players. I am debating playing GW2 over this. I watched a lot of good players get hacked and lose everything they own.

If you've bought from the store then you have to change your password via PlayNC. And the way I was able to initially log into my PlayNC master account was use the same password and username as your GW account. For some strange reason my username was too long to fit, but I put in what would and it was fine. Changed my GW passwords and my PlayNC password to different things. |

Yes, you have to but if you're smart, you'll use a different email and a totally different password (for ncsoft that is).
